Unless you’re a gym rat, you probably don’t get excited about doing push ups, jumping jacks, or burpees. In fact, most people skip the gym all together because the mental anguish of exercising is too much to bear. However, if you learn to make exercise a positive experience, you’ll begin to become more motivated about getting active.

Here are some suggestions to get you going:

Find a workout partner. Working out with someone will not only help you achieve your fitness goals, it will keep you motivated to push through and complete exercises you may not have done alone.

Do something fun. If running on the treadmill isn’t exciting, you can add some fun to your routine by playing a sport instead. There’s also group fitness classes or outdoor mountain hikes, just to name a few. Burning calories doesn’t have to be boring.
