By now I’m sure you’ve figured out that losing weight is not just about exercise but how you eat. One of the hardest things for people to overcome is food cravings, especially late at night. When you give in to these after hours cravings, you’re putting yourself at risk of gaining weight because you’re adding calories while your metabolism is moving slow. To spare yourself the extra pounds, try using these tips to fight late night food cravings

Eat breakfast within an hour of waking up and refuel every 4-5 hours. This will help control your blood sugar level and keep you from binge eating at night

Have a fiber rich diner. Fiber will help keep you full during the evening hours and help reduce the urge to snack.

Drink lots of water. Not only does water keep you hydrated and help flush out toxins, it also keeps you feeling full without adding the extra calories.

Keep snacks out of your kitchen. You know the old saying, out of sight, out of mind…or in this case, out of mouth. When you don’t have tempting snacks within reach, you won’t eat them.

Stock up on healthy options. Trade in that snickers bar for nuts or that slice of cake for a piece of fruit. I know that’s easier said than done, but once you start to develop healthier snacking habits, you’ll be happy with the effect it has on your waistline.
