I came across an interesting article on Ebony Magazine’s website. In it, the author addresses a reader who is feeling discouraged about her man “letting himself go.” She emphasizes that she still love him but his physical appearance has affected her attraction towards him.

Here’s a bit of her letter:

He’s gained at least 30 pounds since we’ve been together, which hasn’t been that long. I eat well, work out pretty regularly and try to cook healthy meals for him, but he still eats crap. I have even asked him to join me at the gym! He says he wants to do something about the weight gain but never follows through. I find myself not wanting to have sex with him because of this.

What do you think? Is she wrong for feeling this way or does she have a point? How important is it to maintain your physical appearance when it comes to keeping your mate’s interest?
