Want to learn how to “break the internet?” Just ask President Obama. Earlier this week, he broke the Guinness World Record for the “fastest time to reach 1 million followers on Twitter.” His account, @POTUS, had 1 million followers within the first 5 hours after the page was created. After President Obama’s time is up in office, the account will be passed on to the next president in 2016. Prior to his arrival on Twitter, the Guinness record for reaching 1 million followers in a short period of time was held by Robert Downey Jr., who hit that mark in less than 24 hours. Read more.


Chris Rock Featured on Dave Letterman’s Final Top 10 List

Last night marked the end of an era in late night television, as David Letterman’s 33-year career came to an end. Letterman ended the star-studded finale with a “Top 10 things I’ve always wanted to say to Dave” segment that featured remarks from the likes of Chris Rock, Barbara Walters, and Jim Carrey. “I’m just glad your show is being given to another white guy,” said Rock. “Honestly Dave, I’ve always found you to be a bit of an over-actor,” said Carrey. Girl Scouts to Welcome Transgender Girls

Ever since Bruce Jenner’s highly anticipated gender transition interview aired, conversations concerning the transgender community have been pushed to the forefront. The Girl Scouts of the United States of America recently sparked controversy after they announced that they will allow transgender girls into their organization. “Our position is not new,” said the Girl Scouts USA’s chief girl expert, Andrea Bastiani Archibald. “It conforms with our continuous commitment to inclusivity.” There have been several petitions launched in an effort to retract the decision.
