Universal Pictures Sets Snoop Biopic for August 2027 Release

Universal Pictures is bringing the life and career of hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg to the big screen with Snoop, a biopic scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2027.

The film will be directed by Craig Brewer, best known for Hustle & Flow, who is directing from a revised screenplay based on the original script by Joe Robert Cole. Rising actor Jonathan Daviss has been cast to portray Snoop Dogg.

While official plot details have yet to be revealed, the film is expected to showcase key moments from Snoop Dogg’s legendary career and feature music from his iconic catalog, including hits such as “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Gin and Juice,” “What’s My Name?” and “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang.”

With an acclaimed director, a rising lead actor, and a soundtrack packed with classic hits, Snoop is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated music biopics of 2027.
