Strawberry Letter: Not That Kind Of Wife

Dear Steve and Shirley,

I absolutely love my husband with all I have in me. God could not have blessed me with a better husband or role model for my kids. The reason for this letter is simply because I am not sure I can be the kind of wife for the future that my husband has planned. He has been in Bible college for about 6-7 months now and he has gotten deeper and deeper involved in church and in his studies. I definitely have no problem there. His goal is to one day start preaching. When he first entered into Bible college he told me he wanted to be able to minister at the jail, maybe be a deacon at the church, something along those lines. But now he wants to preach and maybe one day get his own church. That is where my problem is. I don’t think I can be a preacher’s wife. I love going to church, I am a good Christian, but I just can’t be at church ALL the time. I don’t do well with socializing. I am happy with being a member and going to a function here and there. How do I tell this to my husband without crushing his dream or do I even go there at all? Do I just sit back and see what happens?

Please help.

~Torn
