Last night David Letterman revealed to viewers that he had sexual relations with members of his staff and that he had to explain all of the affairs to a grand jury during testimony for a case involving an attempted extortion. Letterman said 48 Hours producer Robert Halderman threatened to make those sexual relationships public unless he paid him $2 million. Halderman who is also a CBS employee is being held on grand larceny charges. Letterman has been qouted as saying, “I have had sex with women who work on this show. Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would, especially for the women.” He also said that he feels like he needs to protect his family and the women that he had affairs with. Letterman’s show is currently number 1 in its time slot and he has been with CBS for 16 years.
