A Different World Is Back And Brandy Is Taking On the Theme Song

If you grew up watching A Different World, you already know that theme song is more than just an opening. It’s a memory.

Now, the iconic theme is getting a fresh take, with Brandy lending her voice to the new version for the upcoming A Different World revival.

The original series found a whole new audience when it landed on Netflix in February 2025. 

Now, viewers are heading back to Hillman, but this time, it’s a new generation of students.

The new A Different World arrives on Netflix September 24 and will follow the lives of new Hillman students, including Deborah, the daughter of Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert.

So, while the story is new, there’s still a connection to the original series that longtime fans will recognize.
