On May 31st, 2020, two AUC students, Teniyah Young (Spelman) & Messiah Young (Morehouse) were driving through downtown Atlanta after getting something to eat. What happened next has been recorded for the world to see, Teniyah & Messiah both tazed and removed from their vehicle. The actions by the six Atlanta police officers resulted in charges, two of which have been fired.

Today, APD Chief of Police Erika Shields revealed in a private e-mail that she felt blind sided that the charges brought on her officers were “political” and had not been discussed in conversations she had with Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms or her administration.

With so much developing in this case, Ryan Cameron Uncensored could not stand by on the sidelines. Rashan Ali, sitting in for Ryan as he recovers, reached out to Teniyah, Messiah, & Messiah’s attorney, Mawuli Davis to discuss how their lives have changed, what how they felt in the moment, & how they are handling this experience of a public encounter.
