Cobb County officer make racial comments during traffic stop
A veteran white Cobb County police officer is on administrative leave in the wake of an investigation prompted by dash cam video and racist comment made during a traffic stop. The video shows Lieutenant Greg Abbot tried to calm a white women who was nervous about the stop by saying, ” Remember we only kill black people.”
Postal workers charged with taking bribes to deliver drugs
Federal authorities say 16 metro Atlanta postal workers are under indictment as the result of a sting operation involving the delivery of packages reported to contain cocaine. They are all accused of accepting bribes to deliver packages to a special address to drug dealers.
Church leaders rally to relocate Macon confederate monuments
There is a call for the removal of two confederate monuments in Macon’s public square. It came yesterday from leaders of the African Methodist Episcopal Church council of bishops. Under state law local governments in Georgia can’t take it upon themselves to move confederate monuments from public locations.
