Steve Harvey shared to his listeners why he met with President-Elect Donald Trump and how hurt he was for the backlash he received for taking the meeting:
On a personal note, a’lot of yall hurt me. I didn’t expect the backlash to be so vicious… But if Im keep getting stabbed at, then at least while you’re stabbing me, understand my intent in the first place. Sitting at the table, gives me an opportunity to say what we would like on the menu…I’m from the hood, I’ve been trying to do my part for young boys and girls…I’ve been putting in the work for years…I just love children who need a chance…if I can get an opportunity to say to the man who is about to become the 45th President of the United States, who wanted to talk to me, who was cordial to me and talked to me to with respect, and actually did something instantly, why would I not take the opportunity to say some of these things? and then he responded immediately I had to give him credit for that.
