Subject: He has pictures of his exes in our house
Dear Steve and Shirley, I have moved in with a man who proclaims that he wants us to build a life together, but he has pictures from both of his weddings in our house. I have told him that the pictures really have no place in the house and that he should place them in a photo album. He initially agreed with me, but since then, he told me that the pictures have to stay up on display for his son. His son is 28 years old and does not live with us! And, only one of the women in the pictures is his son’s mother. I also have found many pictures of his ex-wives and his ex- girlfriend on his phone, including nude pictures. Yes, I know it was wrong to snoop and I admitted to him that I did it. He thinks that having these pictures in his phone and in our house is normal. I do not think that he desires to be with any of these women, I’m just confused about why he is cherishing their pictures. I can tell you, without a doubt, if the tables were turned, this would not seem so normal or acceptable to him. I do love this man, but I am creeped out over this and I’m wondering if I can marry him. What should I do? Am I missing something?
