The heat on Ayesha Curry has seems to have cooled since she became the target of social media backlash during the NBA Finals. Now, it seems, hindsight is 20/20.
Ayesha and her husband, Steph Curry sat down with People Food to discuss life after the Finals. The celebrity chef said of her social media presence, “I’ve always wanted to live unapologetically. I’m proud of my family and proud of the people around me. That’s why I share our lives on social media, because they make me happy.”
“I was just a fan in that moment so I didn’t think about the ramifications,” she said. “I regret the way that I voiced how hurt I was. I felt hurt for [Steph], and I didn’t mean to offend anybody. Obviously, what I wrote is not what I think about what he does for a living.”
Still though, Steph has remained supportive of his wife throughout: “You’re not going to win any battles on Twitter, so I tell her, ‘Keep being you. Keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t worry about what people are going to say. No matter who you are, they are going to try to find something to try to get under your skin and make you be somebody you’re not.’”
In the end though, it seems Ayesha has learned from the mistakes she made and is happy to move on from the entire ordeal. She does admit, though, “It hurts my feelings because I didn’t intend to hurt anybody. I apologized for it, and I feel like people should move on. There’s a lot more serious things going on in the world.”
Hopefully, when her Dubs reach the Finals again next season, as they’re destined to do with the addition of Kevin Durant to the squad, she will be a little more careful about what she tweets.
