Strawberry Letter: Down Payment On Love

Dear Steve and Shirley, I’m 21 years old, living in South Carolina and I’ve been talking to a 23 year old guy from North Carolina for 5 years now. Currently, he’s building on a home he says is for us, but he says I can’t put my name on the lease because his name is already on the lease.  He also told me to finish school, raise $10,000 and he’ll get me to North Carolina to be in our home he’s building for us. I asked him why he didn’t tell me about this home building project when it first came to mind and I explained to him that I feel blocked in. He says it’s because I don’t understand. So I asked him if we are in a serious relationship and he said, “No, really to be honest, not yet because you’re not here so I see no point in rushing into things. But who knows, when you get here, I’ll be willing to start.”  Is this right? Should I give him $10,000 to put towards this home? The only information I have about the house is the address and the location and that he’s finished with the kitchen. I honestly don’t know what to do but pray about it.
