The nominations for the 2014 BET Awards have been announced and Beyonce and Jay Z lead the pack with four nominations each. Beyonce is nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best Collaboration (“Drunk In Love”), and Video of the Year twice (“Partition,” “Drunk In Love”). In addition to being nominated alongside his wife Beyonce for Video of the Year and twice for Best Collaboration, Jay Z is also nominated for Best Male Hip Hop Artist.
Drake, Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams and newcomer August Alsina follow behind with three nominations each.
The nominations announcement comes just two days after footage leaked of Bey’s baby sister Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator at The Standard after the Met Gala in New York City.
The host for this year’s BET Awards will be announced tonight (May 14) during 106 & Park at 6pm. The awards ceremony will air live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday, June 29 at 8pm.
