Subject: Marriage Is Out Of The Question
HI STEVE AND SHIRLEY,
I am a 21-year-old woman in a relationship with my 24-year-old boyfriend. Were expecting a baby girl the end of September. I met my boyfriend when I was a young child around the age of 13-14, he had a girlfriend so I just backed off but I had got back in touch with him in February 2012, and we have been together since. He had lived in Ohio and had moved to Chicago to be with me. Things didn’t really work good there so we had just moved to Florida recently. I love him with all I have and want to spend the rest of my life with him. The only concern I have is every time someone brings up marriage he says he’s NEVER EVER getting married. He tells me were together now what will marriage change? That it’s just a hassle and he doesn’t want to go through a divorce. I’m a little worried, I had lost my father back in 2010, and after that always said I will NEVER get married, now that I found someone I think karma snuck up behind me. I don’t know how to realize if it’s just a phase or if he never does want to get married. His parents had a really BAD marriage and he says that is why he doesn’t want to get married. Steve, what do you think I should do? I’m completely lost and out of answers?!
