Funeral services were held today for Kris Kross rapper Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church in Atlanta. The services were attended by the rapper’s family and friends, including So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat. Chico DeBarge and Xscape sang at the service.

Kelly’s Kris Kross partner Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith gave an emotional eulogy as he broke down in tears.

It’s been like a struggle for me every day … I know Chris is in heaven. He was a true friend … I just wanna say I love you man … and I’m gonna miss you dearly. My life  … it ain’t ever gonna be the same, but I just hope our legacy for hip-hop is never forgotten. I’m gonna do my part to make sure Chris’ legacy will live on.

Smith also addressed Kelly’s mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, who had to be attended to by a group of women in white nurse uniforms when the coffin was closed:

“Donna, you’ve always been like a mother to me. I know I can’t fill Chris’ shoes, but I’ll always be there for you.”
