When police began to search the parked vehicle, they uncovered not only the distribution leaflets but hundreds of cocaine packets attached to them. The campaign fliers also contained specific information on how to vote for Lima.
“According to locals, she had been distributing the drugs since early in the morning, on condition that people vote for her,” Police chief Daniel Ottoni told TNOnline.
Police officials charged Lima with electoral corruption and dealing drugs. If the young woman is found guilty, she will be banned from serving in a public office for eight years.
