Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s $40K per person fundraiser raised a reported $4M last night. One hundred people filled Jay-Z’s 40/40 club to meet and greet the president. Beyoncé took the stage and told the crowd, “I can’t tell you how proud we are to host tonight’s event with President Obama. We believe in his vision.” Obama, who arrived from tapping the Tonight Show with David Letterman, told the crowd, “Beyoncé couldn’t be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent.” He also told Jay-Z they have more in common than many would think, “We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard but it’s okay.”
