Strawberry Letter: A Hard Place
Dear Shirley Strawberry & Steve Harvey,
I am a 42yr. old gay female. I have been with my lover for 11years. We both are on the down low. I love her with all my heart, but she says I help my mother too much. Well my mother will be 70 yrs. old next year. She lives on her own with a fixed income. I have a sister & brother, who does not help out. She needs me to take her to church, doctors appointments, etc.,because my brother & sister are not there for her.
She was in the hospital for 2 months they only came around to check the insurance policy, but God is good. She pulled out of it came home. I feel I’m bless to still have my mother in my life. She’s all I have. I was laid off from work and my lover pays the bills. My mother helps us out a lot. My lover told me if my mother ever has to come live with us, she would leave.
I’m all my mother has, and she’s in her golden yrs. I need for her to feel safe & loved. My lover is the love of my life. When we met she knew the deal. I want to make this work because her & moms is all I have in this world. My lover & I listen to you every morning.
Guys I’m in a hard place right now.
