Kelly Rowland will be a judge on the UK’s “X-Factor” when the singing competition’s eighth seasons airs. Unfortunately, that means she won’t be on the US version of show, which is scheduled to premiere its first season in September.

The judging panel for the stateside version of “X-Factor” will include record exec L.A. Reid, Paula Abdul, and former Pussycat doll Nicole Scherzinger.

The UK version will include Kelly alongside 3 people we’ve never heard of: Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh, according to Perez Hilton.

Kelly said of her new opportunity: “I am so excited to join The X Factor UK and be able to spend time in one of my favorite places in the world. The music coming out of the UK right now is incredible with artists like Adele, Jessie J and James Blake, so I’m confident this season of The X Factor will give me opportunity to hear a few diamonds in the rough. Being a judge is never easy, but I promise to be as sternly honest as I can and also encourage everyone who crosses the stage. I can’t wait to meet the world’s next superstar!’

We can’t say we’re surprised; after all, Kelly’s recent music has tended to much better overseas, but with the success of “Motivation,” we we’re hoping she’d be staying around a bit longer.
