Strawberry Letter : My Dad Is A Tired NBA Player

Dear Shirley Strawberry,

What does this mean??? My Dad played in the NBA league for a few years when I was a child. I haven’t heard from him since I was in the 8th grade. So I found a telephone # on the Internet and called. We had a little conversation and then he claimed he had to go but would get back in touch with me.

It’s been a week and he hasn’t called back yet. Should I take that as if he doesn’t want me calling him ever again? Personally I feel that was a coward move on his part. He should be thanking me and my mom for not making him pay child support. We saved him a lot of money throughout the years and this is the thanks I get.

Why are some black men like that? I feel you should never forget your child, the first one at that. I don’t want $$ from him. I take care of myself but I do think I deserve to know what blood I have running through my veins and a relationship with him. And to top it all off he has an organization for kids but he doesn’t even have a relationship with his own kid. Wow — I guess he thinks he is a man — a poor excuse of one.

Morning Show, please shed some light on it. My friends say I should call back and say “you forgot to call me back so I’m calling to finish the conversation and by the way I need a new transmission for my car!”
