Strawberry Letter 23: Why Does Wrong Feel So Right?

Good Morning Steve & Shirley,

About 6 months ago, I met a man through some friends who I quickly became close to. At first, I paid him absolutely no mind, then all of a sudden, we were talking every day. This friendship turned into a crush and then bam, we were sleeping together.

The conversations are great, we have a ball together and the sex is MIND-BLOWING! The problem is, I am married. I know, this is the part where Steve lays into me. No need, because I am doing it myself. I love my husband, but I am not in love with him anymore and the sex is, well frankly, awful, but I just cant break his heart, or hurt my children and end the marriage.

I also do not want to be a fool and assume this “love” I am feeling with this other man after 6 months is worth leaving home, even though I was wanting to leave before he came along anyway. I am being selfish to both of them because the other man wants me to himself and says he loves me, but he can’t have me. I feel torn between being loyal to my husband, giving the other man what he wants, and doing what’s actually right.

What should I do?
