CLOSE

If not, it could cost you in Jonesboro. The Jonesboro city council unanimously approved a curfew for teenagers,16-years old and younger, that will make parents accountable. The curfew applies after 11 pm to kids out without adult supervision. The city’s municipal court judge has yet to determine the amount of the fine. Jonesboro Mayor, Luther Maddox says police have been getting more complaints about teenagers walking the streets at “all hours of the night.” Maddox believes this curfew will help limit teen late-night activity as spring approaches and night temperatures go up.  By the way, there is a state curfew. Under the state law, if a child violates curfew, police will take them to a juvenile facility and the parents would be called to get them. The Jonesboro law will require parents pay a fine as well.
