I-285 to Close in Both Directions This Weekend

Atlanta-area drivers should prepare for a major weekend closure on Interstate 285 as the Georgia Department of Transportation continues work on the I-285 Westside Rebuild project.

All northbound and southbound lanes of I-285 will close Friday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. and remain closed until Monday, Aug. 31, at 5 a.m.

The closure will affect I-285 between Cascade Road at Exit 7 and State Route 166/Langford Parkway at Exit 5.

More weekend closures planned

Drivers should also be aware that additional full weekend closures are tentatively scheduled for:

Sept. 11–14
Sept. 25–27

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and check the latest traffic updates before heading out, as construction schedules and traffic plans may change.
