Atlanta Still Ranks Among the Buggiest Cities

Not sure if this is good news or bad news, but Atlanta has dropped from No. 4 to No. 5 on Thumbtack’s annual ranking of cities with the biggest pest problems.

So, technically, that’s good news, but Atlanta is still in the top five, which isn’t exactly something to celebrate. The bigger question is: Why does Atlanta have so many bugs?

According to Thumbtack’s 2026 Buggiest Cities report, the full top 10 is:

1. Washington, D.C.
2. Dallas, Texas
3. Austin, Texas
4. Baltimore, Maryland
5. Atlanta, Georgia
6. Charlotte, North Carolina
7. Houston, Texas
8. San Francisco, California
9. West Palm Beach, Florida
10. Miami, Florida

And there’s more: Atlanta ranks No. 2 in the nation for mosquitoes.

So, the question is…

Do we really have a mosquito problem?
