A new food recall affects products sold at several major grocery stores across 26 states. The recalled foods contain jalapeños linked to a potential Salmonella risk. Taylor Fresh Foods announced the recall on August 9, 2026. The company used jalapeños supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors. The supplier recalled fresh jalapeños because of possible Salmonella contamination. The FDA and CDC are investigating a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to the peppers. Taylor Fresh Foods says it has not received reports of illnesses tied to its recalled products.
The recalled products include dips, salsa, guacamole, sandwiches, burritos, and prepared foods. They appeared at Hannaford, Kroger, Stop and Shop, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Whole Foods. The affected products have Best If Used By dates through August 16, 2026.

What To Do If You Have a Recalled Product
If you find one of these products at home, do not eat it. The FDA recommends discarding recalled products immediately. You can also contact the store where you purchased the item about a refund.
The affected products went to retail distribution centers across 26 states. Those states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, nausea, and vomiting. Some infections can become serious, especially for young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.
