Now wait a minute… was Kirk Franklin about to throw hands?

Over the weekend, the “Smile” singer found himself in a tense exchange while out in Philadelphia after a man approached him and began confronting him.

According to videos making the rounds online, Kirk initially appeared to keep things calm, even trying to hug the man in an effort to de-escalate the situation. But the man wasn’t interested. Instead, he repeatedly told Kirk, “You need to repent.”

Things took a turn when the man told Kirk, “You and your wife are going to go to hell.”

That’s when Kirk’s demeanor appeared to change. The video shows him getting visibly upset as members of his security team stepped in and held him back while the man walked away.

Was Kirk justified in getting upset, or should he have just walked away?
