A new product has parents and schools paying close attention. Caffeine pouches are showing up in classrooms, locker rooms, and backpacks across the country. Some school districts now ban them completely because of health concerns and confusion with nicotine products.

These small pouches sit between the gum and lip. They deliver caffeine quickly into the body. Many brands market them as energy boosters for workouts, travel, or long days. Teenagers have started using them for quick energy during school hours.

What Exactly Are Caffeine Pouches?

Caffeine pouches look similar to nicotine pouches. They often come in mint, fruit, or candy flavors. Some contain vitamins and amino acids along with caffeine. Many pouches contain between 50 and 200 milligrams of caffeine.

That amount may not sound serious at first. One pouch can contain as much caffeine as several sodas. Some products match the caffeine found in strong energy drinks or large coffees.

Experts say the caffeine absorbs faster through the gums than through drinks. That quick delivery can cause jitters, racing heartbeat, anxiety, and sleep problem
