Grammy Award–winning singer Mariah Carey is sharing her excitement after being nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the third time.

While chatting with Billboard, Carey said it “felt great” to be shortlisted for induction again and expressed hope that this could finally be the year she earns a spot among music’s most influential artists. She added that being inducted into the Hall of Fame is “definitely an unchecked box” on her long list of career accomplishments.

Carey, who has had a decades-long impact on pop and R&B music, continues to be recognized for her chart-topping hits, vocal range, and influence on generations of artists. Fans have long argued that her legacy and record-breaking success make her a natural fit for the honor.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will announce its 2026 class of inductees in April 2026.
