Tyrese has been on a roll lately doing press and pulling publicity stunts to promote his newest album, Black Rose. In a recent interview with Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez, Tyrese alleged that he only married his ex-wife Norma Mitchell because she was pregnant, and he wanted her to stay in the country.
“That marriage was a marriage, but it wasn’t really a marriage…She’s from London, and we had a baby on the way. When immigration is calling you gotta do what you gotta to do so that someone you have a child with doesn’t get banned for ten years. I did it to keep her in the country.”
As he continued, it seemed like he was trying to say that their marriage wasn’t really about emotions, adding that he couldn’t imagine having to go all the way to London to see his daughter.
“We had a very extensive prenuptial agreement. We had a plan. We know why we’re getting married. Everything that’s mine is mine, and vice versa. So we’re going to do this, and we gotta do what we gotta do on behalf of our angel.”
If you recall, earlier this year, Mitchell accused Gibson of being physically and emotionally abusive toward her throughout their relationship. She also alleged that even after they split, the abuse continued.
I don’t know about you all, but it seems like this changed man schtick is a farce and that he’s only “opening up” to push more CDs.
