Nelly was arrested on grounds of felony drug and gun possession charges in Putnam County, Tennessee on Saturday morning. State trooper Michael Loftis investigated the rapper’s tour bus after he had noticed a lack of important bumper stickers such as the U.S. Department of Transportation and International Fuel Tax Association. Once the trooper was closer to the bus, he smelled marijuana and went on to discover that Nelly and five of his associates had more marijuana and also methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and handguns, including a “gold-plated” 50-caliber Desert Eagle Pistol.

Loftis was assisted by Sargeant Donald Jennings and Nelly was detained under his legal name of Cornell Haynes. Nelly was charged for the drugs found and possession of the guns and TMZ reports that Brian Jones, who was also on the bus and a convicted felon, was arrested for possession of his own handgun.

Nelly and Jones were later taken into Putnam County Jail in Cookeville, TN. Their items were seized and the bond was set at $10,000. According to Fox2 News in St. Louis, the bond was paid for in matter of hours.

On another note, we’re going to be hearing “Dilemma” and “Ride Wit Me” puns for awhile.
