Gina Prince-Bythwood Working On Black Lives Matter Pilot

Fresh off her Academy Award nomination for “Beyond the Lights”, Gina Prince- Bythwood is already diving into her next project. She is currently working on a project for Fox and Imagine about the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
While she is mum on the details of the project, she told Black Enterprise, “That’s my hope for my films: that people can go see it and see something to aspire to,” she says. “But also change the perception and see our humanity.”
Prince-Bythwood is a veteran of TV and movies. She’s started as a writer on A Different World and Felicity before directing Love & Basketball and The Secret Life Of Bees.
While we’re still on the fence about Scandal’s Ferguson episode, we’re excited to see this project.
