Singer and R&B Divas: Atlanta star Angie Stone was arrested in DeKalb County after police say she hit her 30-year old daughter with a metal stand and knocked out the woman’s front teeth.
UPDATE: Angie Stone Has Been Released From Jail
According to the AJC, Angie Stone (real name Angela Brown) said the altercation started when her daughter Diamond Stone hit her in the face with closed firsts. Diamond Stone and Blondy Chisolm, a family friend who was present during the fight, told police they did not know who threw the first blow. Diamond Stone claims that the altercation began when Angie Stone entered her daughter’s room and demanded that she clean it up. She also ordered her daughter to control her children, who were reportedly running around the singer’s home half naked.
Angie Stone, 53, reportedly told police that she did not know she hit her daughter with a metal stand. Blondy Chisolm reportedly broke up the fight. Both Angie Stone and Diamond Stone were taken to DeKalb County Police Department headquarters for questioning. Diamond Stone was released with no charges, but Angie Stone is being held in the DeKalb County Jail on a charge of domestic aggravated assault.
Angie Stone was previously arrested in 2011 when police pulled her over on her way to church. She was arrested for speeding and driving on a suspended license.
