On May 16th, 1983 “MOTOWN 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” aired on NBC and blew the world away. Instantantly, “MOTOWN 25” became a sensation, its live performances of Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Four Tops, The Miracles, The Supremes and more stole the hearts of audiences nationwide. The performances became major moments in music history- like the first time music fans witnessed Michael Jackson‘s legendary moonwalk, for example. Featuring Linda Ronstadt and hosted by Richard Pryor, the show went on to win an Emmy six months later, but then disappeared from television broadcasting for decades.

Until now. Tomorrow, on February 28th, 2015, at 8pm, a new and revamped MOTOWN 25 anniversary special will appear on over 300 public television stations and continue broadcasting throughout the month of March.

To coincide with this momentous occasion, TJ Lubinsky, Motown 25’s producer, has created a 7-CD set of original Motown Hits, classic album tracks and rarities. It’s a special release, including longer versions of songs with hidden gems that lie beyond the original fade out points on the tracks. You can find the CD set here.

Be sure to check your local listings to catch the national broadcast of Motown 25 tomorrow, February 28th at 8pm ET, 7pm CT! In the meantime, watch this sneak peak of The Temptations from Motown 25 now!
