Strawberry Letter: Help, I’m In Love With A Cry Baby,

Dear Steve & Shirley,

I am a very confident and independent woman. I met the love of my life nearly 3 years ago. We have a serious issue. He says I am “cold hearted” and I think he is a “cry baby”. Whenever there is an issue and I communicate the issue with him, he cries. Whenever I don’t communicate an issue with him, he cries. When I tell him he cries too much, he cries and says I have no emotions. I am so frustrated with all of the tears. I have never been in a relationship when a man cried so much. In fact, I don’t think I have ever seen any man cry this much. Frankly, the crying is a complete turn off. He has been looking for a job for a year now. His mother passed away shortly before he lost his last job. I was there for him through all of that. I continue to support him in EVERY way. I just cannot stand when someone cries over things they have the power to change. I know he may be stressed and depressed because the last couple of years have been hard for him, but at some point you have to pick yourself up and be proactive. I try to encourage him to go back to school and/or pick up a trade. I think he is definitely lacking in confidence. I recently asked him to go see a therapist or psychologist & he was deeply offended and guess what? He cried! How do I deal with this? I love this man through all of his flaws, but this one is killing me.

Please help!!!
