Miguel‘s 2013 tour dates show just how far the rising R&B star has come in the last three years. Miguel has three shows booked in South Africa—March 1, 2 and 3—and after that, he hits the road with Alicia Keys for her “Girl on Fire” tour. That trek begins in Seattle on March 7 and continues through April 18, when the pair stops in Chicago for a concert at the United Center.

Miguel’s 2013 tour itinerary is below. This latest batch of dates comes as Miguel continues to garner praise for his sophomore album, “Kaleidoscope Dream,” and enjoy the kind of increased recognition that comes with scoring five Grammy nominations. Although the L.A. native only bagged one gramophone statue at the 2013 ceremony—Best R&B song, for his smash “Adorn”—he’s more visible than ever.

In concert, Miguel showcases the wide range of influences—everyone from Prince to David Bowie and Def Leppard—that make him such a compelling singer, songwriter and performer. While Miguel’s 2010 debut album, “All I Want Is You,” proved a commercial disappointment, the multi-talented artist is making up for lost time, showing the world he’s fit to stand alongside Keys on some of the nation’s largest stations.
