Demetria L. Lucas wrote an interesting opinion piece for Essence where she urges readers not to forget the key issue in the NFL tragedy that occurred in Kansas City.
This past Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot and killed his live-in girlfriend Kasi Perkins, the mother of his 3-month-old daughter. Belcher then drove to the Chiefs team facility and shot himself in the head in front of the Chiefs coach and GM.
In her column for Essence, Lucas examines gun control and its role in the Kansas City tragedy.
