Legendary Boxer, Joe Frazier died last night after a severe battle with Liver cancer (it was only days ago that we caught wind of his condition). Smokin’ Joe was an Olympic and Undisputed World Heavyweight boxing champion. His career lasted from 1965 to 1976, with a brief comeback in 1981. He is an inductee of both the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. He was rated one of the 10 “Greatest Boxers Of All time” by the International Boxing Research Organization.
Joe Frazier faced Muhammad Ali in a match called the “Thrilla In Manila,” which was the third and final match between he and Ali. It is regarded as the “Fight Of The Century.”
“The world has lost a great champion. I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration. My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones” said Ali.
