A man was detained for psychiatric evaluation in Los Angeles after threatening to shoot singer/songwriter Ne-Yo in the head. But Ne-Yo may not have been the only target.

Sony Music Entertainment obtained a temporary restraining order against Jeff Choi, who allegedly made threats for months. According to sources, the man believes the music company released several songs about him without permission.

Sony claims Choi sent hundreds of threatening emails, made dozens of angry phone calls and even went down to the Sony offices in person to complain … but was escorted out of the building after he became belligerent, reports TMZ.

He threatened to shoot Ne-Yo, head honcho Clive Davis and CFO Kevin Kelleher in the head – unless Sony pays him $800,000.

Choi was taken to a mental health facility, but continued to make threats from the institute.
