The Beyonce and Jay-Z baby bump managed to completely overtake this year’s entire MTV Video Music Awards.

Beyonce bounced and sang her way through “Love On Top” as her husband proudly saluted. When Bey dropped the mic, rubbing her belly and telling us all she had love growing inside of her she wanted us to feel, nothing else after, or before, mattered. There’s some folks and/or moments that still deserve some type of honorable mention.

Chris Brown donned all white and sang, then flew his way through Wu Tang Clan’s classic “Protect Ya Neck,” Nirvana’s timeless “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and a few of his own hits. While it was a great, creative performance, we’re still scratching our heads as to why Breezy chose to lip-synch when he’s already proven he can sing live.

Lady Gaga showed up as Joe Calderone while Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry showed up as Lady Gaga. I’m all about the theater that Gaga brought to her performance. She committed the entire night.

Britney Spears was honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Britney’s been a pop icon since she burst onto the scene with “Baby One More Time” in 1999. So the length of her tribute came as a shocker.

Bruno Mars’ tribute to Amy Winehouse perfectly suited the “Rehab” singer’s 1950’s vibe.
