The nominations for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards are in!
Kanye West, Adele and Katy Perry lead the pack with a total of 23 nominations between them. Two of Katy’s nominations include Video Of The Year for “Fireworks” and Best Pop Video for “Last Friday Night.” She and Kanye share the grab for Best Special Effects for “ET.”
Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars and Eminem scored three nominations a piece. Lil Wayne and Chris Brown have two.
However, Rihanna only received nominations for her guest appearances on choruses. Are we the only ones who feel she was snubbed?
Before the haters go NUTS, you don’t have to be a fan of her music to recognize that she wasn’t nominated for a single piece of her solo work this year. Not one.
And this was her year – 5 back-to-back singles and 5 back-to-back videos (three of which went all the way to #1!) C’mon! You couldn’t even change a radio station or television channel without hearing one of her hits.
