One of my favorite parts of March Madness is watching the tournament video recap “One Shining Moment.” This year, Jennifer Hudson had the honor of singing the title song. The late Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass have also recorded the song.
Hudson’s performance was typical Hudson — well sung with some extra vocalization. However, the video recap wasn’t as strong as it’s been in years past. The video didn’t capture as much emotion from the players and fans.
I didn’t like the cutaway shots of Hudson in the studio. It’s great that she sang, but “One Shining Moment” is about those kids who pour their hearts out on the court and the fans who love them.
