After two decades of recording and touring together, it appears that veteran hip-hop group Naughty By Nature may dissolving again. In an angry tweet, founding member Anthony “Treach” Criss stated that his partner Vincent “Vin Rock” Brown was “fired” from the group.
“Vinnie from NAUGHTY BY NATURE is Officially FIRED!! Anything he does besides shows til Sept is Frugazy!! F*ck him & the Ground he Walks!!”
Vinnie only responded via the Naughty By Nature twitter page with an instagram statement about being sacrificed for the greater good:
Warriors are not what you what you think of as warriors. The warrior is not someone who fights, because no one has the right to take another life. The warrior, for us, is one who sacrifices himself for the good of others.
After releasing their first hit “O.P.P.” in 1991 the group officially stopped recording together in 1999, but Treach and Vinnie reunited for 2002′s album IIcons. In 2011 all three members (including producer Kay Gee) reunited to record Anthem Inc.
