It's hard to believe that nine years have gone by since Aaliyah and eight others were killed in a plane crash. Her close friend and collaborator Missy Elliott recently answered some questions from MTV about the anniversary of Aaliyah's death and her influence on today's female R&B singers.
Gerald Levert, who died in 2006, would have been 44 years old today. Gerald was a founding member of and trio Levert, which included brother Sean Levert and Marc Gordon. He was also a part of R&B group LSG, alongside Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill. You may know his father Eddie Levert from the group The O'Jays.
