Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Joss Stone, and more chipped in to help raise money and awareness for HIV/AIDS on Wednesday’s “Idol Gives Back” telethon. Mary rocked out to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” with an all-star band including Travis Barker, Randy Jackson, and Orianthi. Alicia performed “Un-thinkable” and “Empire State of Mind (Part II).”
While “American Idol” will be giving back next week, Alicia Keys will be giving out her advice to the remaining seven “Idol” hopefuls on Tuesday night’s show. Keys will mentor the contestants on “inspirational” songs, in keeping with the week’s charitable theme.
The Commander-In-Chief and his wife will be making an appearance on an upcoming episode of Fox’s “American Idol.” Barack and Michelle Obama filmed their appearance on the show on Wednesday for the show’s annual “Idol Gives Back” episode.
