Chris Brown caused a lot of chatter at the BET Awards Sunday when he broke down in tears during a Michael Jackson tribute. An insider says the crying was fake.

We told you yesterday about Lloyd weighing in on Chris Brown breaking down on stage during the Michael Jackson tribute performance at the 201 BET Awards, where he stated he told Chris to “cry.” But when everyone on the net started going in on the Atlanta singer, he changed his tune.

Prince debuted the cover and title of his new album in the strangest of places – his turtleneck at the BET Awards. The album, “20Ten,” is scheduled to be released on July 22nd as a value add to the German edition of Rolling Stone magazine, as well as England’s Daily Mirror, Scotland’s Daily Record and Belgium’s Het Nieuwsblad on July 10th.

While fans have been going back and forth about whether Chris Brown’s tears were heartfelt or just a publicity stunt, Atlanta R&B singer Lloyd says he told the controversial singer that he had “to really show his heart out to the world” and “cry.”

What was surprising about the 2010 BET Awards is that we didn’t see Jay-Z, Beyonce or Rihanna. Coincidence? Perhaps not! Mediatakeout.com is saying they got a report saying Hov, Ri Ri, and Bey boycotted the awards because Chris Brown was performing.
