Strawberry Letter 23: Beginning Of The Wrong Path
Dear Shirley and Steve,
I really hope you can help me with this. I am a single mother raising 2 girls ages 18-8. My 18 year old has never given me any problems until mid 2009. I just found out that she has a STD. I always told my children they can come talk to me about anything.
Now I don’t know if I reacted wrongly or what, but I am very angry with her right now simply poor judgement on her part. The way I reacted was I told her that since she thinks she is grown then do what grown people do and pay for your own medicine. Should I have reacted a different way?
I am so upset with her I can’t even look at her. How is her little sister suppose to look up to her as a role model? OH by the way she doesn’t know who she may have gotten it from, she has been active with 3 different boys. She sure didnt get that from me. I am 41 years old and in my lifetime has only had sex with two different guys. We need women to do what you do for the young boys.
