Starting today MARTA fares will increase, parking fees will rise and children will have to pass a hieght requirement to ride for free. One way trips will now cost $2 which is a 25 cent increase from the previous fare of $1.75. Monthly passes have also increased from $52.50 to $60 and parking fees have been raised by a $1. MARTA officials say that these increases still have little impact on the financial stress of the company, but the measures were necessary for MARTA to continue to operate.
