A Family Reacts to a Difficult Chapter

The son of rapper Mystikal is sharing his thoughts after his father’s recent prison sentence. Million Tyler spoke publicly about the emotional toll the case has taken on his family while also expressing compassion for the victim.

On June 16, Mystikal received a 20 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to third degree rape in connection with a 2022 sexual assault case in Louisiana. Prosecutors originally charged him with first degree rape before the plea agreement reduced the charge.

Million Tyler Shares His Perspective

During an interview with TMZ, Million Tyler said the situation has been painful for everyone involved.

He said he feels sympathy for both the victim and his father. He also acknowledged that no one truly wins in cases like this. When asked whether the sentence was fair, Million said that decision belonged to the court and not to him.

Million attended the sentencing hearing and described the courtroom as deeply emotional. He admitted that watching the proceedings has been difficult for his family and has affected his own music career. Even so, he remains determined to build his own path as an artist.

A Message for His Father

Million said he hopes to visit his father in prison one day, although he does not know when that conversation will happen.

He ended the interview with a simple message directed at Mystikal.

“I hope you get the help you need.”

His comments focused less on the legal outcome and more on the lasting impact the case has had on everyone connected to it.

Looking Back at the Case

According to court records, the victim described a violent assault that took place inside Mystikal’s Louisiana home in 2022. She asked the judge to impose the maximum sentence during the hearing. Mystikal has remained in custody since his arrest.

This is not the rapper’s first conviction involving sexual assault. In 2003, he pleaded guilty to sexual battery in a separate case and later served six years in prison.

What Comes Next

As of now, there has been no public announcement from Mystikal’s legal team about an appeal. Meanwhile, Million Tyler appears focused on moving forward with his own career while continuing to process a painful chapter in his family’s life.
